Ulrich studied Catholic Theology, Philosophy, and economic and social sciences in Mainz (Germany) and Rome. After completing his Ph.D. and various academic tasks he became consultant with The Boston Consulting Group. From there he left after five years from a senior position and became CEO of Hartmann AG in Heidenheim (Germany). Then after, he pursued not only his own private equity interests but simultaneously his academic ones.
Among others he is Chairman of the Research Institute for Philosophy (“Forschungsinstitut für Philosophie, Hannover”). He is also founder of the Institute for Social Strategies (“Institut für Sozialstrategie”). He received various wards from German organizations and holds numerous non-executive board memberships in the German industry.
